Isn't that a good photo? I like it. It is the suji halwa at the Srawana Bhawan in Delhi.
Yesterday was quite happening. We went for Razzle Dazzle, very energetic dance show which started with Airtel vice-CMD saying "We have not sponsored this event and I am not here in that capacity." I liked his extempore focused on youth and music / dance. The performance was good and fun. Photos didn't turn out very good - the dancers were moving. But ... theres always a but ... in the end, it became more like a school performance ... performers and their supporters and their parents hugging each others and running about in the audi. Now it all made sense why some people in the audience were calling the performers by names and would hoot / whistle once in a while.
Then came the highlight of the day - Srawana Bhawan. In two minds about where to go for dinner, QBA or Park Hotel, we ended up in Srawana Bhawan. Parking was easy, but that was just a deception. Door was closed - no it was not closed. There was a guy writing names and when we managed to wrestle our way to him, he took our name and said - 45 mins minimum in a very south indian accent. We started contemplating options - McD was next door, and very close was also Cafe Coffee Day. We went to all of them, browsed and returned back and got our turn in about 5 mins of waiting right next to the name writing guy. We were in. Two group of 2-seaters had not had the patience to wait.... we got out turn ahead of time. Food was awesome. Dosa and wada were very good. Curd rice that we ordered was a little funny with kaju, kissmiss and chopped green chili pieces all mixed in the rice. I hate chili! Best was the suji halwa (south Indian version looks as in the photo) - which we ordered only because the server suggested. It was so good that it was almost a fight between the two of us to get the bigger portion of the Rs 65 orange sticky rubbery and yet very very yummy south indian suji halwa.
